Catching Up

Here are a few pics from the last couple of months. I really don't mean for so much time to go by between each post, it just slips away from me. Little Laney is 6 months old and we can't believe how much she has grown. It feels like just a couple of weeks ago that we brought her home from the hospital. I wish they didn't have to grow so fast. She's very playful and curious and is so in love with her big sister. All Emma has to do is walk in the room and Laney practically cracks up! She is doing well with rolling over and sitting up and almost has them mastered. She just started pulling up on me while in my lap as well.

Laney experienced her first trip to the zoo in October and her first Halloween. She was a ladybug...for a few minutes. We call her 'Laney bug', so we thought it was fitting! Emma was Snow White. She loved the costume and even kept the wig on all night. Josh took her trick-or-treating with her cousins and they had a great time!

We all went down to San Marcos for Jessica's (Josh's sister) wedding in November. The girls were fabulous travelers and Emma was very excited to wear a pretty dress and walk down the aisle with her cousin, Jona. They looked adorable and the wedding was beautiful.

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving with Josh's side of the family and are looking forward to spending time with both sides of our family for Christmas. It sure does sneak up on us every year! Emma is very into Christmas this year, for the first time, and had a list of specific requests for Santa. The girls had their picture taken with Santa at the yearly open house that Alcon puts on and I will post that soon. We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year!!

New pictures

It's been a while, but I'm finally updating our blog!!! Here are some recent pictures of Emma and Laney. Laney is now 3 1/2 months old and Emma just had her 4th birthday. Time is just flying by!

Laney is entertaining us with lots of happy chatter and big smiles. She even lets out the occasional giggle when Emma sings and dances for her. She loves watching her big sister perform and Emma loves having an audience! She's focusing on objects we hold in front of her and grabbing onto them and has been sleeping through the night since she was 8 weeks old. It has been such a joy to have a baby in the house again!

Emma enjoyed her birthday luau this past weekend at her Nana and Papa's. It ended up being an indoor luau due to rainy weather, but everyone had a good time. When the rain slowed to a sprinkle, all the kids headed outdoors to hit a flip flop shaped piñata. It was apparently made of some heavy- duty material and had to be busted open by Uncle Steve once all the kids gave it a try. Then they enjoyed cupcakes and ice cream and made necklaces out of seashells. It's hard to believe she is FOUR years old!

Emma turns 4!!!

So Precious!

Here are a few adorable pictures of Emma and Laney that were taken by Aunt Tricia at Aunt Toni's house last week. Tricia did an amazing job on the pictures and we had a wonderful visit!



Laney will be 7 weeks old this Thursday. She is sleeping great at night, only waking once for a middle of the night feeding. We are enjoying every grin and coo. Emma is about 7 weeks from turning the big 4! She swam without her floaties for the first time last weekend. She has been working so hard at becoming a championship swimmer. We can't believe how fast they are growing.



I've attached a short video of Emma talking to Laney. She loves watching Emma and is always smiling at her. As you will hear in the video, Emma has acquired quite the Southern accent! I apologize for the picture being a little fuzzy...I'm still learning about my camera.

The Girls

Here are some recent pics of the girls. We can't believe how time flies, Laney is almost a month old already! She is still in the eat, sleep, and poop stage and doing very well at it. Emma is a great helper and wants to be present during every diaper change and feeding! We are slowly getting into some sort of a routine and Laney is starting to let me get a little more sleep at night, which is wonderful! Hope everyone is doing well!

Here She Is!

Sorry it has taken me so long, but here are a few pictures of Laney Kate...finally! We were blessed with a healthy, happy, beautiful baby girl on June 4th at 12:48 p.m. She was 7lbs. 3oz. and was 19 3/4 inches long. She is so precious and such a content baby! Emma is adjusting pretty well to her big sister role and can't get enough of Laney. We will try to update the blog as often as we can and soon we will have some video up for everyone to see. Here We Go!

Looks like tomorrow is the big day! We are one week past her due date and I'm scheduled to be induced early in the morning. We finally get to meet and hold our baby girl. Keep us in your prayers!

I had a great birthday yesterday. Emma picked out some beautiful cream and pink roses for me and wouldn't let Josh choose anything else. She also picked out and 'signed' a card all by herself. She must have been excited because she woke me up at 6:15 a.m.!! She was holding a piece of paper that she had drawn on and decorated the night before and was saying that she made it for my birthday. It doesn't get any better than that!

I just wanted to give everyone an update. We will post pictures of Miss Laney as soon as we can!

Still Waiting....

Today is my due date, but apparently, Laney isn't ready to make her appearance just yet. I went for my 40-week check this morning and nothing has changed since last week. She's being a little stubborn! I guess we just keep waiting. When I came home from my appointment, Emma said, "Did she come out yet?" She is so excited! I hope that we will have some baby pics to show everyone in the next few days.

The picture of the three of us was taken yesterday by Aunt Tricia. She came over and took some family/pregnancy pictures for us. She did a fabulous job! Thanks, Tricia!!

Emma & Josh had great time this afternoon swimming in Nana and Papa's pool while I enjoyed lounging around in the shade. The weather was perfect....too bad it won't stay that way for long. I am going to attempt to download a short video of them playing around and being silly. Enjoy!

Waiting.....

Went in for my (almost) 39-week check today, 5/19. Showing some progress, so it could be any day now. My actual due date is the 28th. Emma is so excited to meet her baby sister. She talks about Laney all the time, and hugs and kisses my belly every day. We're wondering if Emma will always call her 'Laney Kate', she only refers to her by first and middle name. It's too cute!

Josh's last class for school is this week. He will be getting his Bachelor's of Science in Business Management. He is beyond excited to be done with it all and has worked so hard these last three years. We'll be glad to get to spend one more morning a week with him!

We will continue to keep everyone posted on the baby news. We thought we would start a blog site to keep family and friends updated with pics and videos (as soon as I figure out how to do that), along with little notes about what's going on in our lives. Hope you enjoy it! Love to all!
